I Have A New Site

I am so excited to announce the launch of my new website www.theanolan.com . This new site has been a long time coming and I am happy to let you all know it's finally here. I have spent a ton of time working on making it a place that you can go to find a bit of inspiration. I hope you like it.

What To Bring To Thanksgiving Dinner

Tis' the season for friends and family. Thanksgiving is one of my absolute favorite holidays, because FOOD and family. I always love to bring a small dish to share and this year is no different. Here are some of my go-to dish's that have been a hit with my friends and family

This is by far what my friends know me for. I make a mean cheese plate, and it tends to be finished quite fast. I recommend getting a few different cheeses, crackers, meats, and fig jam. Here are my faves:

Valdguie: PYT - This sparkling red is perfect for when red seems too heavy for your taste. It's served chilled and it's super refreshing

Rose: Summer Water - I am on board with Rose All Day. I can drink Rose all the time and it is a great drink to start with if you expect to be drinking all day.

Savignon Blanc: Nobilo - This is my current favorite Sav Blanc. I love how citrusy it is and its a plus that I never get a headache from this one.

Cuvee: J - Who doesn't love bubbly? This is an amazing Cuvee and not too pricey for the taste! I love bringing this one to parties as a gift to the host.

Brut- Veuve - My absolute favorite drink to splurge on is Veuve. If you haven't tried it, well now you have to!

Pie:

Skinny Taste: Pumpkin Pie - I've made this recipe quite a few times and it's delicious! I highly recommend this one, your guests will love you!

The Gracious Pantry: Apple Pie - I've been following this blog for years and the recipes are amazing. They are "clean eating" and super tasty.

Food Network: Pecan Pie - On the not-so-healthy side of things, this pecan pie will rock your socks off! 

Salads:

Persimmon & pomegranite: Don't you feel like people forget to bring healthy dishes during the holidays? This salad is healthy and delicious!

Quinoa and cranberry salad: I love a filling salad that's still healthy. This one is amaze.

Prosciutto and Fig salad: This one has the key to my heart. Just writing about it is making my mouth water.

My Favorite Books I've Read Recently

I love love love reading non-fiction books. For those of you who are in to non-fiction here are my absolute favorites that I've read recently. Check them out!

Lean In:
This book changed the way I look at the world, specifically, myself and women in the workplace. Sheryl Sandberg is not only an amazing leader, COO of Facebook, but a mother and an entrepreneur. She shines light on a lot of controversial conversations and really encourages women to find their voice. I bought a few copies and forced friends and family to read this one

#GIRLBOSS:
I have shopped at NastyGal for quite a while, and have followed Sophia Amoruso on socail media for years. She is not your average fashion entrepreneur and her quirkyness has always attracted me to her business. Her book GIRLBOSS was so inspiring, because Sophia didn't come from money. She didn't have mom and dad write a check and make things happen for her. Her book is about her journey, and it's one that after reading I felt like I could make all my wildest dreams come true.

You Are A Badass:
This book was one I snagged at the airport heading out on vacation. A friend recommended it to me, because her and I have very similar interests. We are no B.S., we want to be happy & healthy, be inspired, centered, surrounded by great energy & great people. She was right, this book was right up my alley. I have a feeling this one will be one I go back to over and over.

Modern Romance:
I am a 27 year old woman who is single, lives in a big city & is dating. This book is not only hilarious, it is informative and extremely relevant to my life. Aziz brings a ton of humor to the writing of this book on how it is to date now-a-days, but since he partners up with a Harvard Researcher this stuff is actually legit. Check it out!

The Woman I Wanted To Be:
Diane Von Furstenberg is a fashion icon, and has been one for years. Her book not only shares a lot about her personal life, but showed how it all tied in to her business and her becoming who she is today. I wouldn't say this book is too relatable for me, but it really opened my eyes up to her world. The fur, penthouse living, Paris Fashion Week and all!!

Strong Looks Better Naked
Ok, I will admit it.. I love me some Khloe K. Especially after reading this book. This opened my eyes to what her life was like with Lamar and how her outlet became fitness. She is wise beyond her years and has some really awesome advice in this book. It was a fun read and I really enjoyed hearing her turn really negatives in to a huge positive.

My Favorite Rugs Right Now

As you may know, I have been obsessed with decorating as of late. I am moving in a few weeks, and this means I get to decorate a whole new space! I have been shopping a ton, but like most of you I am on a budget. Putting a deposit down, paying rent & moving costs are expensive. Here are some of my absolute favorite rugs that won't empty your bank account.

This rug from overstock is perfect for a beachy, boho, or super chic room. I love the neutral colors and am even more obsessed with all the texture and patterns.

I have this rug and in my current living room it is just the pop of color we needed with the neutral furniture colors we have. World Market sure has some great steals! Be sure to find one of their coupons that they send out monthly!

Do you have a desk or reading area that needs a little help? This faux-hyde rug is perfect! I am obsessed and need to find space for one of my own.

Can I have ALL THE RUGS? This one reminds me of one from West Elm that I wanted for $1300. Well, lets just say this is just as cute for a fraction of the cost. If you have a colorful space, a neutral rug is great!

This rug is so fun! It's perfect to add a touch of color if you have a very neutral space OR you can add it to a room that has a ton of color to make it extra WILD. If I had a kids room, I would most likely place this there #oneday.

This rug is super cute and I just love this vintage Etsy shop! This rug can pretty much work anywhere, but I love how they used it in an entry way in the above photo.

THANK YOU TARGET. This rug is just what the doctor ordered. Chevron + orange = Heaven. I love chevron anything and this rug brings back the 70s for me. Place a cute coffee table in the middle or a desk on top and you're all set!

I love this finely woven boho rug. It looks super neutral, but if you take a peek up close there's tons of color.

Does your bathroom or vanity area need a makeover? These cute rugs are perfect! I love the fact that you can just layer them and mix match them to make an area of your home extra bright!

This smaller rug is perfect to add next to your bed, near your sink or in your entry way to your home. I love the design and think it brings a ton of fun in to a boring room.

I love southwestern style rugs. This one happens to be one of my favorites- the color palette is right up my alley. I can envision this rug with a lot of brass around it and a leather chair or couch sitting nearby.

Are you more of a girly girl and want your space to be very pretty and chic? This rug is perfect for you. It's beautiful and elegant. I love it!

They keep coming! How cute is this one? I can't get enough. The color, pattern.. perfection.

These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

I live in San Francisco. There is NO WAY that I can wear stilettos and 6 inch boots out on the town. I walk everywhere, so comfort is crucial. I, however, am not willing to sacrifice cuteness for comfort. I pretty much search for that unicorn boot. I want it to be beautiful and bearable. Here's my favorite boots this season that won't have you counting down the hour till you can take them off.

Vince Camuto- Over the knee boot

I bought my first pair of Vince Camuto boots last year and they are definitely my most worn boot. They are pretty tall, but I can wear them all day. I love love love them. These boots are perfect to rock this fall and winter with a long sleeve shift dress or jeans and a sweater.

Vince- Easton Bootie

This shoe is perfect for this fall. It's my favorite going out bootie. I wear it out on the town, to baseball games & even to work. They are on the taller end for me, but quite comfy.

Sam Edelman: Petty "Chelsea" Bootie

I wore this bootie to work most days last year. They are the most comfortable booties I own and go with just about everything. I definitely recommend grabbing these in one of the colors you wear the most, because you'll get great use out of them.

Jeffrey Campbell: Cromwell

This bootie is by far the edgiest I own. Jeffrey Campbell kills it with his booties, and this one is SO comfy. I wear this boot to work all the time and can walk all day without my feet getting tired.

Rachel Comey- Mars Bootie

If you need the perfect day-to-day black bootie, look no further. Rachel Comey makes an amazing boot, and this one is my absolute favorite. It is a must-have for all my styling clients and it is such a well made shoe.

Isabel Marant- Dicker Boot

This boot by Isabel Marant is a designer staple. It is on the pricier end, but keep an eye out and you may find them on sale! This boot is the most comfortable heeled boot I own.

Acne Studios: Chelsea Bootie

This bootie is on my wish list. I've tried them on quite a few times and hope to own them one day. I love the metal detail on the toe, and the texture of the black leather.

Joie: Barlow Suede Bootie

This flat boot by Joie is really amazing. It is easy to slide on and you can walk around for hours in them. This boot comes in all the staple colors, so if you're looking for a super easy "go with everything" type of boot this may be the boot for you. 

Urban Outfitters: Short Suede Boot

This boot is not only super fun and cute, but super affordable. This green is super in this fall and I can't get enough!
