1 tbsp. undated almond butter (or any other nut butter)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup ice
1. In a blender add all ingredients.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Drink up!

Product Review: Dale's Raw Protein
I have been introduced to THE BEST protein powders and bars I have ever tried (and I've tried em' all).
Dale's Raw Foods has the best raw protein powders, and raw protein bars!!! My mouth is watering while writing this!
I have recently read up on whey and other proteins like casein, as well as soy. I am realizing they are doing more harm than good. I was luckily introduced to Dale's, and I am not turning back. The powders and bars are RAW, Vegan, Gluten free, and ALMOST 100% organic (still working on getting approved).
The good thing about this product is that they are made fresh to order, and when you consume them your body can recognize all the products and absorb the nutrients quickly.. Think about it, a chocolate whey protein powder typically is made in a factory with tons of fake ingredients and over processed, so it doesn't make much sense that most health nuts consume this junk. INSTEAD- start consuming natural products from the earth that are fresh and you will see a world of difference in your energy!
Powders: Brown rice, pea, and hemp protein mixes
Chocolate
Natural
Vanilla
Strawberry Banana
Flavors:
- Vanilla Cashew
- Blueberry Macadamia
- Strawberry Banana
- Raspberry Hazelnut
- Chocolate Almond Coconut
- Chocolate Cherry
- Chocolate Chia Maca
- Goji and Greens
- Low Carb Vanilla Cashew
- Low Carb Cafe Mocha (Organic ground coffee and raw chocolate with combo of almond/cashew butter and chia seeds. Only 12g carbs, 8g fiber, and 3g sugar per bar)
All of the bars are HAND-MADE, yes made to order!!! Real ingredients like Coconut Nectar for sweetener, Coconut Oil for texture and added health benefits, Goji Berries and Chia Seeds (powerful superfoods), Raw Cacao for its antioxidants, in addition to the pea, hemp and brown rice proteins.
The only thing to watch out for is because it has ZERO preservatives, the shelf life is a lot shorter than regular protein bars (6 to 8 weeks).
Order these bars or powders, and you'll be hooked.

Product Review: Sun Warrior Raw Vegan Vanilla Protein
I have been so lucky to have been introduced to an amazing new product. Being an athlete I am extremely picky on what I put in my body. I realized the past few years I have been drinking protein drinks that are mixed with junk! Sun Warrior Protein has the 9 essential amino acids and other non-essential amino acids in a perfectly balanced amino acid profile. The processing of this product is natural and clean, which is different than most others on the market filled with chemicals.
Enough of me jabbing about it! Get it at

The weather is nice, and all I want lately is something cold and sweet! I just finished a tough workout, and on my way home from the gym (starving as always) I was thinking of what to make. Something with fruit (after workout and in the morning is the best time to consume fruit because they are simple carbs and refuel muscle glycogen stores), and something with protein to get to the muscle cells quickly... Mmmm a smoothie! Better yet, the best smoothie ever!! I got all the ingredients that sounded refreshing, threw them together and in result ended up with MAGIC! This protein smoothie is so yummy you wouldn't even know it is health in a cup!

When it comes to protein a lot of people don't know what to get so here are some tips to help you find the right one for you! Tons of people who supplement their diets with protein drinks tend to get the wrong kind of stuff. My advice to you is to get a whey protein (easier for your body to digest and supply protein quickly to your muscles). You should get one high in protein(20-35g) and one very low in fat, sugar, and carbs(right after a workout ingesting fat slows down metabolism). From GNC they have a chocolate protein I really like it's called amplified wheybolic extreme 60. The serving is 3 scoops but it is not likely you should use all 3 (unless you are a bodybuilder) I usually take 1-1.5 scoops if I have it as a snack and i'll also have a piece of fruit. If I decide to use protein powder as a meal replacement shake I will blend 1.5-2 scoops with 1 c. unsweetened almond milk 1/2 banana and cinnamon.. Right now I am using a protein from Nutrishop called protein synthesis and I really like this one as well.. It's very similar to the GNC brand! Good luck and don't hesitate to ask an employee at a nutrition store to help you find the right protein;)
Protein NO-NO's:
Slim Fast- These are HORRRRRRIIIBLLLE for you! High in sugar and low in protein!!! BAD BAD BAD
Special K protein drink- This drink doesn't have a sufficient amount of protein (only 10g) and has a whopping 18g of sugar!
Trader Joe's whey- not enough protein for the amount of calories too high in carbs.
